With one EP, Toronto’s Chrome and the Ice Queen have demonstrated that they are a band that needs to be on everyone’s radar. The first single, “Stealin’ Hearts,” featuring Daniel Lee of Phedre, blew us away a few months back, but the release of Diane shows just how many dimensions the band has. From the incredible and anthemic “Young & True” to the Lynchian jazz of “Sway”, the tasteful and restrained use of horns and strings makes this band something truly special. The instrumental outro of “Between the Pines” leaves us requiring more. We hope for another release before the year is out. You can buy Diana from their Bandcamp.
