Psychic Rites – Alone At Night
Well this is a nice surprise! Psychic Rites! Brooding glitchy electro pop from Northern Idaho of all places. This track is a real slow build, gotta wait it out til the arpeggiator explosion at the end. Super creative little living room video too. And there’s a cat!
Video: Ghost Twin – Mystic Sabbath

Here’s a fantastic new track from Winnipeg duo Ghost Twin. Apparently, the master track was immediately corrupted upon exporting the file, and all we’re left with is this blistering demo. It was too evil!
Suitably occult visuals in the video courtesy of band member Jaimz Asmundson.

Grimes says: “Hey — this is a video my friend Video Marsh made for this really old Grimes song from my first record. We were supposed to release it ages ago and somehow it didn’t happen probably because it didn’t comply with the press cycle at the time and since I’ve stopped caring about complying with press cycles im sharing this now.” Via Gorilla vs. Bear.

Pick a Piper, whose album we’re still heavily into, and whose Silent Shoutout selections we quite enjoyed, just released a sweet animated video. From the brains/pens of Kyle and Graeme Reed.

Video: Ev Ree Wuhn – Colours
Posted on May 1st, by digits in Video
Toronto’s Ev Ree Wuhn is a band that impressed us greatly last year, with both a killer single and a great remix. They’ve been quiet lately, but with good reason. We just got word that their debut LP is on its way: May 14 is the date that we should all look forward to. Here’s the broody, clattery, and arpeggiated first single, “Colours.” Video directed by Adrian Gagnon and Alex Grant.

Here’s Montreal’s Zöe with a super-catchy weird pop jam, reminding us a bit of fellow Habitant Mozart’s Sister. Really nice synth hook! And a lovely video directed by Stephanie Creaghan and Sara Graorac. Premiered by our Berlin besties No Fear of Pop.
