The Deeep – Muddy Track

The Deeep – Muddy Track

Hypnotizing and serenely dark. Toronto’s The Deeep are repetitive but never overstay their welcome with this six minute song. Want more? They just released an extended version on a 12″ put out by 100% Silk. On the b-side the vinyl includes two remixes that we can’t wait to hear.

The Deeep will also be playing The C is for Cure, a PWYC fundraiser at the Music Gallery in Toronto on Saturday, January 29. A great cause and a great line-up!

MP3: Young Galaxy – Peripheral Visionaries, Cover Your Tracks

Young Galaxy – Peripheral Visionaries
Young Galaxy – Cover Your Tracks

Okay, we really should have had these up a few months ago. Our bad. If you haven’t already heard, Montreal’s Young Galaxy have pulled a genre change, away from indie rock and towards dark disco, for their new album Shapeshifting (out Feb. 8). These singles indicate that they have made the correct decision. The change in genre was helped by having Dan Lissvik of Studio produce. Interestingly he produced the whole thing without ever meeting them, it was all done over Skype. Can’t wait to hear this album. Also, apparently one of their songs will soon be remixed by Grimes. Yes please!
