Maya Postepski (Trust and Austra) again and again solidifies herself as one of the best remixers in the country, if not he world. Here is an epic, nine minute long reworking of dreamgaze band Landshapes. Silent Shout will be presenting Princess Century, Maya’s solo project, on May 25th in Toronto where she will be releasing her debut album, Lossless on Kennington Records.

Princess Century was one of our favourite faves before we started the music series and blog, and now we can expect a full album’s worth of material on April 29. Our first sneak peak is this video, which features Jess Forest of Castle If fame (who was amazing at our CMW showcase on Saturday). Directed by Kate Young and Leah Finkel.

Well, this comes as a surprise. Presumably in anticipation for their tenth anniversary music festival, Paper Bag Records have released a cover album of the classic Bowie album. For free! Okay, well, we love Bowie, and we love a bunch of these artists, so we’re pretty happy.

Tonight, it’s clear that Mission Santa Cruz is the place to be, with two of the best live acts in the country, Austra and Doldrums, holding forth with the super-sexy Cosmetics opening. But if you can fit in Kuhrye-oo at Royal Phoenix, we highly recommend that too.

Obviously all of these artists are worth seeing, but decisions have to be made. Doldrums and Moon King at Club Balattou is probably the best bet of the night. Warm Myth is also playing and Austra is DJing, just making it that much more amazing. Silkken Laumann at O Patro Vys and Prince Innocence at the Royal Phoenix are our other can’t-miss picks of the night. See whatever you can!
