Werewolves, Beware! – I want your Life

Darkwave outfit WEREWOLVES, BEWARE! take a dive down the rabbit hole of social media-spawned envy on “I Want Your Life,” the second track off of their new EP, Rey Drecker. Swarms of synths swell and surge through the opening silence, inundating the track with an electrifying energy. Haunting vocals, mainly comprised of frenzied shouts, intertwine with the track’s cosmic instrumental to form a menacing yet irresistible strain of dance-inducing electronica. Ultimately, with their eccentric disco-meets-grunge concoction, this Toronto/Calgary duo create a fiery track that captivates us with every listen.

“I Want Your Life” is now available along with the rest of Rey Drecker via Bandcamp.

Bobby Uzoma – Alone

By now we’ve come to understand that every Bobby Uzoma release will be a breathtaking, emotional ambient electro-R&B ballad that will stop us stone-cold in our tracks, gasping for air. The Calgary songwriter/producer possess an uncanny ability to arrest one’s soul with his vocal performances and lyrical rawness, while the production sounds so forward-thinking it’s like we’re receiving a radio signal from the not-too-distant minimalist R&B future. Unbelievable stuff. Bobby, keep ’em coming!

Tigerwing – Need Me Bad

There aren’t any places on Earth that visually reflect Tigerwing‘s otherwordly creativity, so she made her own. In this video for her first single after last year’s brilliant Make the Rabbits Run, the Windsor-based artist sings about desperate desire in a digitally created planet painted with pinks and blues. Water vibrates, stones rise and pyramids float in time with layers of synths working themselves into a steady simmer. It’s exactly what our ears needed.
