MP3: Easyboy – Lovefool

Easyboy – Lovefool (Ballchain edit) 2
It’s always a pleasant surprise when we hear some new Easyboy, since we assumed Eric Farber moved on to his punkier pastures with his other project Cellphone. Occasionally though, stuff like this reworking of The Cardigans Lovefool gets thrown into the ether of the internet for out listening pleasure. We’re certainly glad that it was.
New Release: Easyboy – Mirror Killer
Easyboy – Rabid Resource
Toronto’s Easyboy has been somewhat dormant as of late, probably because they have been focusing on their also excellent side-project Cellphone. Suddenly, out from the ether comes a new EP, which sounds pretty damn fine. There are only 300 copies made of this special 7″ vinyl, and it can be purchased from Spooky Town Records.
Video? Easyboy – Owners Manual
Well, technically it IS a video. Moresso, it’s an awesome song from Toronto’s Easyboy, who did a show with us last November. It was good times! Where have these guys been? We suggest they make more music.
Top Songs of 2010 Pt. 1
As you probably noticed, Silent Shout is a blog, and is therefore morally and legally obligated to post a year-end best-of list. It’s been an excellent year for Canadian electronic music and an excellent inaugural year for Silent Shout. Canada definitely has some of the best indie electronic acts in the world and there are plenty more that we weren’t able to include on this list. That said, here are our champions! Yesterday: our top albums and music videos. Today and tomorrow: our top songs of the year!

Silent Shout presents Foxfire and Easyboy
We are thrilled to present the third installment of our monthly showcase series with two amazing local bands. Come to Teranga on Friday, November 12 for Foxfire, Easyboy, and of course, Silent Shout DJs Digits and ARP 2600.
FOXFIRE
Foxfire’s dark disco sound has been a mainstay of the Toronto scene since 2005. Over the years, they have opened for MGMT, Glass Candy, Yeasayer and Land of Talk. Their energetic live show is a must see, and guaranteed to get people moving.
EASYBOY
Easyboy is a relative newcomer to Toronto. Eric Farber of Truman Peyote fame started it as a solo project, releasing his excellent Friends tape. Performing as a duo, Easyboy’s noisy electro-pop is danceable cacophony of awesome.
