We’ve utterly fallen for this new sound from Montreal‘s Forever, the solo project of June Moon and originator of last year’s smooth, pastel-flavoured, fantastic self-titled EP. Keep the soulful, beautiful vocals; push up the tempo; add some bass bounce; turn the heat up and let it simmer: the result is this daydream of a single. It’s produced by fellow Montrealer Ouri, and it’s been putting some spring in our step all day.
Great news: she has another EP on the way!
Late last year, we were pretty floored by the soulful minimal electro-R&B of Montreal solo artist Forever, aka June Moon from Cafe Lanai, when she put out her debut single “Every Second”. Well, her debut self-titled EP came out at the beginning of February and it’s all-around stunning, staking out new territory by taking electro-R&B to very psychedelic and dream-pop-influenced places. “Heaven’s Mouth” is only one highlight among many on the nearly flawless six-song record, an utterly beautiful and almost criminally smooth minimal jam.
The Forever EP can be streamed now on Soundcloud, and is available for download from iTunes.
Forever is a new project from June Moon, who you may recognize from Cafe Lanai, and the first single is fantastic. It ebbs and flows just like the lightly bouncing water in the album art, both beautiful and relaxed. Soulful vocals and a slow, subtle melody make this a great introduction, and we can’t wait to hear more.
