Lee Paradise

Video: Lee Paradise – Breaker

Okay, Daniel Lee is a verifiable megatalent. Not only does he lovingly destroy our music receptors with Ph├Ędre and Hooded Fang, he’s also got time to casually make amazing solo albums in his spare time. Say hi to Daniel’s new solo project Lee Paradise, whose Water Palace Kingdom was recorded in a influenza-ridden week in 2012 following a Hooded Fang tour. Reminding us of classic Tubeway Army but also Lee’s contemporaries Dirty Beaches and Hot & Cold, it’s a gritty minimalistic post-punk record that shouldn’t astonish given the man’s pedigree, but you know what, we were still astonished – it’s a fantastic record. The beautiful black & white motorcycle vid for “Breaker” was shot in Thessaloniki, Greece and directed by by Neil Cavalier.

Silent Shout is presenting the release party for Water Palace Kingdom in association with our blog bud Mechanical Forest Sound with Lido Pimienta, Jay Holy, and B-17 opening, TOMORROW, in Toronto and you should come.

Water Palace Kingdom is available on 12″ from Pleasence and Not Unlike Records. Or stream it right here:
